Research Interests: Angotti's research centers on three areas: 1) the incorporation of global health norms and interventions in local contexts; 2) HIV/AIDS, aging and livelihoods in rural African settings; and 3) methodological issues and innovations in field-based research. Her research projects include the implementation of Western HIV testing norms in rural Malawi, HIV risk across the life course in rural South Africa, and the criminalization of same-sex sexualities in African countries.
